He is also the creative force behind A DREAM OF ARABIA™, the first theatrical production of Middle Eastern dance and music.

Nanae – Artistic Director/Lead Choreographer

Nanae, an exclusive MAQAM® artist, is the artistic director, lead choreographer, and star of A DREAM OF ARABIA™.

A world renowned artist in Middle Eastern and Oriental dance, Nanae began ballet at the age of three, and holds a master’s degree in performing arts from Tamagawa University where she studied Kabuki dance, ballet, and acting. In her teens, with a desire to create a new style, Nanae embarked on a journey to study traditional dances around the world and discovered Middle Eastern dance. For over a decade, Nanae has traveled the world performing the ancient art of Arabic and Middle Eastern dance and has worked with many legendary choreographers and dancers, including the famed Caracalla Lebanese Dance Troupe. Nanae holds the distinguished honor of being the first artist of Middle Eastern dance to present an Arabic performance at a major US sports venue when she performed “A Feeling Like Love” at Soldier Field (Chicago, IL) in 2006. This historic event was repeated one week later with Nanae’s performance of “Where It All Begins” at the world-famous and historic Wrigley Field in Chicago.
Nanae’s exceptional choreographic and dance skills are surpassed only by her performance artistry. She is world renowned for her exquisite lines, her fluid, nature-defying movements, her dramatic interpretation of Arabic music, and her ability to connect the audience with the story and emotion of the folkloric dances of the Middle East.



W.M. McMillan - Head Hair/Color Stylist

W.M. (or Billy to his friends), head hair stylist for MAQAM® since 2003, is the creative master of hair, color, and style for the cast of A DREAM OF ARABIA™ and is the exclusive stylist for the show's star Nanae.
Inspired by the disco era's glamour, the sophistication of the 1930's era, and his philosophy of “let your inner beauty shine through”, Bill has styled celebrities, politicians, society women, and fashion icons for over two decades. His renowned skills make him a much sought after colorist for taste and style makers around the country.
